Repair and protection against corrosion under insulation (CUI) with Belzona

Belzona protective coatings and repair composites provide safe, simple and cost effective solutions to repair and prevent CUI problems at a wide range of temperatures.

For the temperature range between 30°C and 80°C, Belzona 5841 provides excellent corrosion resistance. This two part solvent free material is applied cold with a standard brush, eliminating hot work.

For the temperature range between 70°C and 150°C, Belzona 5851 (HA-Barrier) exhibits excellent adhesion. As a one component heat activated material the product can be directly applied to hot surfaces. Such high performance properties offer the benefit of minimising or eliminating costly shutdown periods.

Where substrates require reinforcement, the metal bonding method using Belzona 1251 (HA- Metal) heat activated metal helps to restore pipe thickness without hot work. This heat activated, paste grade material can easily be applied by either applicator or trowel, creating a suitable bond line, resulting in very strong adhesion.

This can be clearly seen in the car lift, where the product was applied to a grit-blasted 75 mm diameter joint and then subjected to a tensile lift of 2.2 tonnes.

These solvent free materials are applied without hot work to steel and insulation for the protection of:
- Pipes
- Vessels
- Pipework
- Structural steelwork
- Tanks
- Valves
- Risers
- Insulation
- Columns
- Steam lines
- Exhaust ducting
- Boilers
- Fan blades
