#Belzona4511 is a two-component #elastomericsealant for vertical, horizontal and sloped #expansionjoints subject to +/- 12.5% movement. This material was specifically designed as a cost-effective and high-performance alternative to conventional mastics sealants. In this video, we will demonstrate the installation of a new joint sealant on a vertical structure. Like with every Belzona application, surface preparation is key. Using a mechanical grinder, remove existing sealants and smooth out the surface. Brush off all dust and residue. Insert a backer rod or foam to prevent the material from leaking into the joint. Define the application area with masking tape. Mix Belzona 4911 Conditioner in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions for use. Apply the mixed conditioner to the application area with a short-bristled brush, pushing the material well into the surface and spreading it evenly. Mix Belzona 4511 Base and Solidifier following the manufacturer’s recommended mixing ratio provided the Instructions for Use. Thoroughly mix both components until a homogenous consistency and color are achieved. Using a spatula, apply the mixed material pushing it well into the joint. Make sure to avoid air entrapment. Using a Belzona applicator, remove excess material. The installation of a new joint sealant with Belzona 4511 is now complete.
