How to Repair a Pipe Under Water with Belzona 1212

In this video, you will see how by utilizing a composite repair solution such as Belzona 1212, damaged or corroded underwater equipment can be repaired.

This multipurpose epoxy-based material has been specifically developed to bond and rapidly cure underwater. It can be applied directly to manually prepared, wet or underwater surfaces and even to oil-contaminated substrates.

This system is ideal for the long-term repair of offshore structures and marine equipment and can be applied in or out of the water to repair boat hulls, buoys, seawalls, docks, propellers, ballast tanks and many more without taking the equipment out of service. Materials Used:
For this underwater bonding application, a prefabricated plate was used along with Belzona 1212.

How-To Guide:
Step 1: Roughen the surface for best surface preparation.
Step 2: Mix the Base and Solidifier of Belzona 1212 thoroughly until the material is streak-free.

Step 3: Apply the material to the plate, pushing it well into the surface profile.
Step 4: Continue applying while building it up to the required form.
Step 5: Apply the material to the bond area by pressing it against the prepared surface.
Step 6: Position the plate and press down firmly over the repair area.
Step 7: Complete application by smoothing out the Belzona 1212 around the plate.

Belzona 1212 is easy to mix and apply without the need for specialist tools and is ideal for repair kits and emergency situations, ensuring fast return to service.
