Storage tanks internally affected by erosion, corrosion and chemical attack can be rapidly protected using Belzona polymeric coatings that will bond to many construction materials including GRP, FRP, steel and concrete. In this video, we demonstrate how to apply Belzona 5812 DW to the internals of a tank to provide protection from corrosion and chemical attack where potable water approval is required. Material Used: To coat this tank, we used Belzona 5812 DW which is approved by NSF for the applications in contact with drinking water. How to Guide: Step 1: Prior to working on internal steelwork, tanks must be drained cleaned and made safe as appropriate Step 2: Oil and chemical contamination must be thoroughly removed using steam cleaning, detergent washing or use of Belzona 9111 on localized contamination Step 3: Apply masking tape to protect the other areas Step 4: Transfer the entire contents of the Solidifier container into the Base container. Mix thoroughly together to achieve a uniform material free of any streakiness Step 5: Evenly apply Belzona 5812 DW using a brush to the entire application surface. One coat NSF approved system achieved Step 6: To achieve a two-coat system, apply a further coat of Belzona 5812 DW Step 7: Remove masking tape
