How to Patch a Tire with Belzona

The tires of off-road vehicles typically operate at low pressure, causing a great deal of compressive stress to the side wall of the tyre in contact with the ground. The stress enlarges splits and holes due to the stretching of the rubber. Belzona Elastomers quickly repair and prevent further deterioration, for that reason extending the life cycle of the tyres. In this video, we demonstrate how to do a tyre patch application to create a durable, high abrasion resistant and flexible repair. This material is easy to mix and apply without the need for specialist tools and it cures at room temperature eliminating the need for hot work.

Materials Used:
In this application, we used Belzona 2111 (D&A Hi-Build Elastomer) for surface repair, Belzona 2911 (Elastomer QD Conditioner) as a conditioner and Belzona 9341 Reinforcement tape.

How to Guide:
Step 1: Abrade to a woolly finish
Step 2: Apply Conditioner 2911 
Step 3: Shake Belzona 2111 Solidifier before mixing with the base
Step 4: Mix thoroughly 
Step 5: Firmly apply into the damage area 
Step 6: Wet out Belzona 9341 Reinforcement tape with Belzona 2111
Step 7: Embed tape it on the area previously covered 
Step 8: Encapsulate with Belzona 2111
Step 9: Remove excess
