How to Create Non Slip Safety Markings with Belzona

In this video, you will learn how to apply Belzona 5231 combined with Belzona 5233 to apply highly visible safety markings that help people safely move around a facility avoiding hazards.

Materials Used:
To create safety markings, we used Belzona 5231 (SG Laminate), Belzona 5233 and some OSHA safety yellow aggregate.

How-To Guide:

Step 1: Ensure proper surface preparation is achieved by removing all oil, grease, dust and any other surface contaminants.
Step 2: Apply masking tape to protect the other floor areas.
Step 3: Thoroughly mix Belzona 5231 Base and Solidifier as per the manufacturer’s instructions: http://www.belzona.com/ViewFile.aspx?id=56462
Step 4: Evenly apply Belzona 5231 (SG Laminate) using a roller as first layer.
Step 5: Ensure coating is at the proper thickness by using a wet film thickness gauge.
Step 6: Scatter an OSHA safety yellow aggregate over the layer of material.
Step 7: Once cured (after approximately 3 hours in ambient conditions), remove the excess aggregate by vacuuming or blowing.
Step 8: Thoroughly mix Belzona 5233 Base and Solidifier as per the manufacturer’s instructions: http://www.belzona.com/ViewFile.aspx?id=61704
Step 9: Apply Belzona 5233 by roller over the safety markings created.
