In this short video, you will learn how to repair a worn #shaft using Belzona 1321 and a #3D printed former to rebuild a damaged shaft using injection technique. Our rebuilding solutions for damaged shafts offer simple applications by reducing hot work and cutting downtime. Shafts become worn and damaged due to vibration, rubbing, abrasive contaminants and corrosion. Where it is impractical to strip a shaft, Belzona metallic polymers can repair in-situ without the risks that result from welding procedures. Worn and damaged shafts can be repaired in situ, limiting the downtime and lost production costs which can be incurred. Materials used: To repair this damaged shaft, we used #Belzona1321 (Super Metal) and Belzona 9411 (Release agent). How to guide: Step 1: Clean damaged area of the shaft Step 2: Undercut the repair area and roughen the profile with a grinder Step 3: Clean the prepared area to remove all surface contaminants Step 4: Apply Belzona 9411 to the internal surface of the 3D former Step 5: Tape off the repaired area and apply Belzona 9411 to the surface outside of the repair area. Step 6: Remove tape Step 7: Mix thoroughly Belzona 1321 Step 8: Pour the mixed material into the injection cartridge Step 9: Firmly apply Belzona 1111 to the repair area on the shaft Step 10: Cut off the tip of the cartridge and install a nozzle. Step 11: Position both part of the former and secure with bolts Step 12: Start injecting the material into the injection port on the bottom part of the former. Step 13: Allow the product to come out through the vent port on the top portion of the former. Step 14: Remove the excess product and plug both the injection port and the vent port. Step 13: Remove bolts after cure and remove former Step 14: Smooth out surface of the repair and clean area
